USARAD.com Passes Unannounced Joint Commission Inspection

Rapidly Growing National Sub-Specialty Teleradiology Group
Delivers the Highest Quality-of-Care

June 13, 2011, Mt. Laurel, NJ--USARAD.com, one of the fastest growing national sub-specialty radiology and teleradiology firms, has passed an unannounced Joint Commission inspection, underscoring its ongoing efforts to ensure the highest quality reading service for all clients. The inspection was conducted because of USARAD.com’s rapid growth following its initial accreditation in 2009 and involved a comprehensive unplanned site visit and survey process similar to a standard scheduled inspection.

“Because of our unprecedented growth, the inspection was conducted to ensure our personnel, policies and infrastructure met The Joint Commission’s demanding criteria. I am pleased to say that USARAD.com passed with flying colors,” said Michael Yuz, MD, MBA, founder and CEO of USARAD.com. “We believe USARAD.com continues to achieve enormous growth in today’s competitive medical environment precisely because we offer radiologists and medical facilities an answer to today’s challenges. Quality, on-demand outsourced reading helps keep the expense of full-time medical staff in check while providing specific services fine-tuned to meet every site’s needs. Much of our growth comes through referrals, underscoring the satisfaction of our existing customer base,” comments Dr. Yuz. ”Our services are customized to each facility’s specific needs. We truly partner with our clients to become part of their team.”

USARAD.com takes pride in its unflagging dedication to quality assurance processes and stringent internal policies and procedures that assure the highest level of service across all radiology sub-specialties. It previously sought Joint Commission accreditation to provide an objective verification of its quality of service through the certification process of the country’s most widely recognized medical credentialing program.USARAD.com’s affordable, high-quality services enable hospitals, imaging centers and mobile companies across the country to expand their expertise with highly qualified radiology sub-specialists to cover advanced exams as well as to maximize their exam volumes with a pool of qualified radiologists who are on-call as needed.USARAD.com is a fully radiologist-owned and operated company that interprets general and a full range of sub-specialty exams and covers all imaging modalities. Through its unique Radiologist-On-Demand™ service, USARAD.com is committed to providing timely and responsive image review 24/7 using highly qualified specialists. Subspecialty interpretations are performed by radiologists who are fellowship-trained and possess additional certifications, including CAQs and subspecialty board diplomas in cardiac CT and nuclear medicine. USARAD.com offers state-of-the-art proprietary RIS and PACS technology for advanced report communications with client sites via web-based interface and fax.The Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) is a private, not-for-profit organization whose mission is “to continuously improve health care for the public, in collaboration with other stakeholders, by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value.” To receive accreditation, a healthcare site must show that its current processes, policies and procedures are in compliance with all standards of The Joint Commission prior to a Commission survey and must document maintenance of these standards throughout its accreditation period.

A CMS rule effective July 5, 2011 eliminates the need for radiology service providers to re-credential Joint Commission accredited Medicare Hospitals and Ambulatory Care telemedicine services. This revision to the CMS existing Conditions of Participation (CoP) for hospitals and critical access hospitals eliminates a complex and time-consuming duplicative process and provides a tangible benefit to contracting with Joint Commission accredited telemedicine companies.

USARAD.com is accredited by The Joint Commission in the Ambulatory Care category.
