USARAD.com Passes Unannounced Joint Commission Inspection
Rapidly Growing National Sub-Specialty Teleradiology Group
Delivers the Highest Quality-of-Care
June 13, 2011, Mt. Laurel, NJ--USARAD.com, one of the fastest growing national sub-specialty radiology and teleradiology firms, has passed an unannounced Joint Commission inspection, underscoring its ongoing efforts to ensure the highest quality reading service for all clients. The inspection was conducted because of USARAD.com’s rapid growth following its initial accreditation in 2009 and involved a comprehensive unplanned site visit and survey process similar to a standard scheduled inspection.
“Because of our unprecedented growth, the inspection was conducted to ensure our personnel, policies and infrastructure met The Joint Commission’s demanding criteria. I am pleased to say that USARAD.com passed with flying colors,” said Michael Yuz, MD, MBA, founder and CEO of USARAD.com. “We believe USARAD.com continues to achieve enormous growth in today’s competitive medical environment precisely because we offer radiologists and medical facilities an answer to today’s challenges. Quality, on-demand outsourced reading helps keep the expense of full-time medical staff in check while providing specific services fine-tuned to meet every site’s needs. Much of our growth comes through referrals, underscoring the satisfaction of our existing customer base,” comments Dr. Yuz. ”Our services are customized to each facility’s specific needs. We truly partner with our clients to become part of their team.”

A CMS rule effective July 5, 2011 eliminates the need for radiology service providers to re-credential Joint Commission accredited Medicare Hospitals and Ambulatory Care telemedicine services. This revision to the CMS existing Conditions of Participation (CoP) for hospitals and critical access hospitals eliminates a complex and time-consuming duplicative process and provides a tangible benefit to contracting with Joint Commission accredited telemedicine companies.
USARAD.com is accredited by The Joint Commission in the Ambulatory Care category.
